Ceramic materials offer outstanding qualities that can be used in a lot of components due to modern production methods. Barat Ceramics, as manufacturers and specialists for aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide, use these possibilities for customer-specific solutions optimized for the individual requirements with regards to:

Materials Used

» Aluminium Oxide
Since the 1960s, aluminum oxide has been widely used in technical ceramics. Its outstanding properties have opened up a wide field of application for this material.

» Zirconium Oxide
Zirconium oxide is a modern material, which has widely been used in technical ceramics for some years only. It has extraordinary properties which surely leave hope for a multitude of new applications to come.
Barat Ceramics has 3 different zirconium oxide material qualities.

» Porous & Foam Ceramics
In contrast to tight ceramics, these materials have an open porosity. Here, we distinguish between porous ceramics with a maximum porosity of approx. 30 Vol.-% and foam ceramics with an open porosity of approx. 80 Vol.-%.

» Dispersion Ceramics
Dispersion ceramics refers to materials consisting of blends of the two basic systems aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide. Such dispersion ceramics include among others the ZTA ceramics (Zirconia Toughened Alumina) and the ATZ ceramics (Alumina Toughened Zirconia).

» Silicon Carbide, SiC
Silicon carbide (SiC) belongs to the groupe of non-oxide ceramics. The standard qualities SSiC (sintered silicon carbide) and SiSiC (silicon infiltrated silicon carbide) have proven their worth.

» Silicon Nitride, Si3N4
Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) belongs to the groupe of non-oxide ceramics. The material S-Si3N4 has proven its worth for applications with highest requirements.
